The scorching summer heat has gripped most parts of South India including Telangana. Dry weather has been prevalent in the youngest state of the country, Telangana for quite a long time now.

Due to this persistent dry spell, the maximum across most parts of the state have increased and settled in higher 30’s. In fact, a few stations have been constantly registering the daytime high near the 40-degree mark, some of them even surpass the same.

Due to soaring mercury levels and continuous sunny days, the weather of Telangana has become hot and humid.

In the state, on Friday, the highest maximum temperature was recorded by Bhadrachalam at 40.8°C. Other stations that have witnessed soaring mercury levels were Khammam at 39.4°C, Ramagundam 39.2°C, Rentachintala 39°C, and Nizamabad witnessed 38.4°C maximum temperature.

The capital city Hyderabad was also no behind in following the suit and the daytime high in the city settled at a whopping 38.3°C.

As of now also, no relief is in sight as the trough extending from Interior Tamil Nadu to coastal Odisha across Telangana has become insignificant. In addition to this, easterly/northeasterly winds are expected to prevail over the region.

These winds would further lead to a rise in the temperatures over the northern parts of the state over the regions like Adilabad, Ramagundam, Karimpur wherein the temperatures are already close to 40°C. Thus, in a nutshell, it can be said that most parts of Telangana are reeling under heatwave like conditions.

Hyderabad and the adjoining regions would have very warm and humid weather. Thunderclouds may also develop at isolated parts towards late afternoon hours today and the sky would remain partly cloudy.
