Heavy Monsoon rains lash Aurangabad, Jalna, Alibag, Kolhapur, Thane; more in offing

However, rain gods finally bestowed some kindness over the residents of Maharashtra and moderate to heavy rains were witnessed over many areas of the state in the last 24 hours. Not only this, these Monsoon showers were widespread in nature.

These weather conditions are attributed to the trough which is extending from North Madhya Maharashtra across Konkan and Goa up to Southeast Arabian Sea. This weather feature is likely to persist over the region giving good rains over the region.

Thus, moderate showers at many parts with heavy rains at one or two places are likely over almost entire Maharashtra. Also, Vidarbha and Marathwada will receive very good rains.

Almost all the districts of Maharashtra are expected to receive rain of varied intensity during the next two to three days. These rains will help in decreasing the rainfall deficiency of Vidarbha and increase the rainfall surplus of other sub divisions of Maharashtra.

Cities including Jalna, Aurangabad, Ahmednagar, Pune, Nagpur, Akola, Amravati, Parbhani, Kolhapur, Bhira, Mahabaleshwar, and Mumbai will witness good rains during the aforementioned time frame. Due to this, temperatures will witness a drop resulting in pleasant weather over the state.
