The states of West Bengal and Jharkhand have been receiving good rains. In fact, Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand received good rainfall activity over many parts during the last 24 hours, as well.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Jamshedpur recorded 42.2 mm of rain, followed by Kolkata and Midnapore 18 mm, Digha 18.5 mm, Malda 16.6 mm, Burdwan 8.8 mm, Cooch Behar 2.3 mm, Darjeeling 6 mm, Diamond Harbour 3.8 mm, Jalpaiguri 1.2 mm.
At present, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Bihar and adjoining West Bengal area, which likely to slope towards south and may persist over West Bengal. This system may further develop into a low-pressure area soon.
Due to the intensification of this system, rainfall activity is likely to enhance over both the states. Thus, we can say that rains will now increase over Jharkhand and West Bengal, during the next 24 hours. The system may give to heavy rains over many parts.
During the last week, Gangetic West Bengal received very good rainfall mainly Kolkata and adjoining region. These additional activities may increase difficulties over many parts. Jharkhand also may receive additional rainfall during this period and the ultimately may cross the monthly normal average rainfall for the state.
