The hills of North India i.e. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand recorded moderate rainfall activity with isolated heavy showers. However, Jammu and Kashmir witnessed rains in light intensity over many parts.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Dehradun 27 mm, Bilaspur 13 mm, Dharamshala 8.6 mm, Mussoire 6 mm, Pithoragarh 6.2 mm and Kullu 3 mm.

At present, the Western Disturbance as an upper air system persists over extreme northern parts of Jammu and Kashmir. The western arm of Monsoon trough is shifting towards the foothills. Therefore, we can say that rainfall activity is likely to enhance over many parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

Moderate to heavy rains are expected over places like Nahan, Bilaspur, Una, Shimla, Pantnagar, Mussoorie and Nanital. Meanwhile, places in Jammu and Kashmir will receive only light to moderate rains.

Further also, we expect these rains to continue over the hills of North India for the next 48 hours. However, due to these heavy rains, landslide and mud slide may also be a possibility. Therefore, all the residents of these areas and the tourists travelling up to the hills must take precautions in order to avoid any kind of mis-happening.
