Heavy rain spell is approaching Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal

Between January 1st and 29 West Bengal has received surplus rainfall of 86% and Bihar is surplus by 19%. Bihar has received scattered showers between January 9 and 12 and again between January 21 and 24. Many parts of West Bengal also witnessed good rain spells during these periods. In fact, rain activities extended up to January 26th over West Bengal.

Fresh Western disturbance is going to approach the western Himalayas by February 2nd. A cyclonic circulation will form over Uttar Pradesh on January 3rd and may gradually towards Bihar and adjoining parts of Jharkhand and West Bengal.

Rain may commence over Bihar, parts of Jharkhand and West Bengal by February 3rd. And there may be moderate to heavy with isolated very heavy spells over the many parts of West Bengal and isolated pockets of Bihar and Jharkhand on February 4th.

Rain activities will subside significantly by February 5th and whether will start clearing up. Parts of the country such as Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal do not receive heavy intense rain activities in the month of February. But there are always exceptions. Month of January and February of 2022 can we such exceptions.
