chhattisgarh post

Chhattisgarh has remained rainy so far in the month of July. In fact, rains have been showing upon the districts of Chhattisgarh since the fag end of June. It was in the recent past when Bastar in Jagdalpur district even recorded very heavy three-digit rainfall triggering flood like situation as well. However, thereafter, the intensity of these rains reduced but some light traces of rains have even occurred in the last 24 hours also.

As per Skymet Weather, due to a low-pressure area which was over Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand, these rains occurred in parts of Chhattisgarh. In the last 24 hours, Ambikapur recorded a whopping 73 mm of rains. While rains in the other regions mainly remained light to moderate in nature.

Other districts of the state such as Raipur recorded 10.4 mm of rains, Pendra Road 4 mm, Bilaspur 2 mm and Jagdalpur recorded 1.4 mm of rains within a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday.

As of now, the low-pressure area has become a well-marked low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand. On account of this, rains of moderate to heavy intensity are likely to continue in parts of Chhattisgarh.

Mainly regions lying in the North and Central Chhattisgarh will receive heavy to very heavy showers for next two days. Thus, Districts such as Ambikapur, Raipur, Bilaspur, Raigarh, and Koriya can anticipate for heavy to extremely heavy rains for the next 24-48 hours.

Thereafter, this weather system is likely to weaken and move in a northwest direction thus, reducing the rain intensity over the state.
