As far as rainfall activity is concerned, rains have remained far and few from Chennai. And rightly so as during the month of March, the average rains for Chennai stands at a mere 3.5 mm. Out of this, Chennai has already recorded 3 mm of rains on March 16 due to a weather system in proximity of the city and the pre-Monsoon season making its onset over the region.

As far as the temperatures are concerned, both the maximum and minimum temperature presently are settling a notch above the normal levels. The maximum temperature at the Nungambakkam observatory yesterday settled at 34.8 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 26.4 degrees Celsius.

As the seasonal pattern suggests, Chennai is expected to remain warm and humid during the next few days as well. The weather condition during the day is expected to remain uncomfortable for the residents of the capital city of Tamil Nadu.

Due to the city being a coastal one, sea breeze will provide the much-needed relief from the prevailing weather conditions. Sky conditions will remain cloudy during the latter part of the day.
