Ahmedabad Weather

Southwest Monsoon has made an onset over the coastal areas of Gujarat. In fact, the Northern Limit of Monsoon is currently passing through Valsad. However, the interior parts of the state will have to wait a little more for Monsoon to make an onset.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Rajkot recorded 9 mm of rain, while Amreli witnessed 8 mm of rainfall. However, as far as Ahmedabad is concerned, the city remained dry and no rains were witnessed over the region.

The last time Ahmedabad had witnessed some rains was on June 9, when 10 mm of rainfall was recorded over the city.

At present, there is no significant system prevailing over Ahmedabad and its adjoining areas. Thus, good rainfall activity will not occur over the city.

Thus, temperatures are likely to witness a rise. Day is expected to remain hot and humid. However, isolated thunderstorm activity may occur during the afternoon/ late evening hours due to local development of thunderclouds over the city but nothing significant is expected.

Generally, sky will remain clear most of the time. Patchy clouds may develop towards the afternoon hours. As far as temperatures are concerned, they will remain on the higher side probably close to the 40-degree mark.

Southwest Monsoon is expected to be slightly delayed with Monsoon making an onset over Ahmedabad around next week.
