In the past 24 hours, light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places with heavy showers at few places were seen over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The significant fall in day temperatures has been witnessed due to extensive clouding and rainfall activities. All these weather conditions prevailed due to the formation of a Low-Pressure Area over the South Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining region.
Places like Hanamkonda, Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Mandek, Khammam, and Ramagundam recorded 26.4 mm, 4.3 mm, 18.9 mm, 38mm, 57 mm and 68.7 mm of rainfall activity in the past 24 hours.
Since this system is moving slowly west-northwestward, light to moderate rain and thundershowers will continue at many places of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the next 36 to 48 hours. Thereafter, the rain intensity is likely to take a dip as the system will continue to move west-northwestward. We can expect the next spell of rain and thundershower on July 31. Places like Khammam, Adilabad, Godavari, Kalingaptnam, Ramagundam, Hanamkonda, etc will receive heavy rains while other places like Hyderabad, Mandek, Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam, Anantapur, etc might record light to moderate rain and thundershower during next 36 to 48 hours. These Monsoon rains can possibly be one of the rainiest spells for Telangana.
Eventually, the day temperatures will start rising after 48 hours with comfortable nights to follow. The occurrence of all these rains will be very useful for paddy and coconut crops.
