Rain in Rajasthan

In the wake of Cyclone  Vayu , during the last 24 hours, southern districts of Rajasthan such as Jalore , Barmer, Sirohi, Udaipur  and Dungarpurwitnessed heavy to extremely heavy rains. Extremely heavy rainfall was recorded in Chittorgarh at 190 mm. According to the rainfall data available with Skymet, Udaipur recorded a whopping 140 mm of rain in the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday. During the same period,  Kota  also received 51 mm of rain.

Today also we expect rain and thundershower activities to continue with high intensity. Light to moderate rains with few heavy spells are likely in Jalore, Barmer , Sirohi, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Banswara , Pali, Bhilwara , Chittorgarh, Kota, Bundi, Tonk and Ajmer. Meanwhile, the remaining parts of the northern and western parts of the state will observe isolated rain and thundershower activities with strong winds.

By tomorrow, the intensity of these weather activities will decrease significantly. However, southeastern districts of Rajasthan may still continue to witness rain and thundershowers till June 21. Thereafter, the weather conditions in Rajasthan are likely to become dry.

At present, temperatures in most parts of Rajasthan have subsided particularly in places like Kota, Jalore, Sirohi and Udaipur. The day temperature here has dropped by almost 3-4 degrees Celsius leading to pleasant weather conditions in the state.

After the clearance of the wet weather conditions in the next 24 -48 hours, the temperatures in the region will start rising once again, leading to the comeback of heat wave after several days.
