Many parts of Maharashtra have been receiving good rains since the last few days. Particularly, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra have received moderate to heavy rains. Isolated rains have also occurred over Vidarbha and Konkan and Goa during the last 24 hours.
A Cyclonic Circulation which was over North Interior Karnataka and South Madhya Maharashtra has gradually moved over Madhya Maharashtra leading to increase in rain activities over Konkan and Goa, Mumbai, Dhanu, Thane and many other parts.
Now, we expect rains to decrease over Vidarbha and Marathwada but will continue over Madhya Maharashtra in places such as Pune, Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur, and Sholapur. These areas will receive good rains. Places such as Sindhudurg, Raigarh, Mumbai, Thane, Dahanu, will also get moderate showers with one or two intense spells. However, the rain activities will be scanty and mainly isolated over Marathwada and Vidarbha.
Gradually after two days, we expect the weather to go completely dry over Vidarbha and Marathwada. However, localized weather activities cannot be ruled out. The impact will continue to be felt over South Madhya Maharashtra after 48 hours. Nashik and Malegaon may also receive light rains with one or two moderate spells during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, the rain intensity will go down over North Madhya Maharashtra but it will continue over South Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa.
