Jaipur rain surplus by 44 per cent, more showers likely in next 2 days

Jaipur rain East Rajasthan has been the best performing pocket in the state. And the capital city Jaipur has observed some good rain during the Monsoon season so far. According to the rainfall data available with Skymet from June 1 to August 25, Jaipur has recorded 585.3 mm of rain against the normal of 405.1 mm, which is 44% excess.

In the last 24 hours too the city has witnessed light rain. Neighbouring Ajmer however, received 26.4 mm of rain during the same period. These rains have occurred in Jaipur and it’s adjoining areas because of the Cyclonic Circulation in the Northeast Arabian Sea and the Low-Pressure Area over Northwest Madhya Pradesh.

In the view of the combined effect of both the above system's light to moderate intensity rain will keep lashing Jaipur until August 28. Adjoining areas like Ajmer, Dausa and Alwar will also observe rainfall activity during this period.

The entire state of Rajasthan this Monsoon season so far has been one of the best performing pockets of the country in terms of rain. According to the rainfall data available with Skymet, rainfall in Rajasthan from June 1 to August 25 is surplus by 29%. And the forecast for rain in East Rajasthan including Jaipur will only push the surplus higher.
