Since the onset of Monsoon, good rains are going on over the coastal parts of Karnataka. During the last few days heavy to very heavy rains occurred over coastal areas. However, rains over interior parts remained subdued. Since, the last two days interior parts also received good rains. Particularly, Gulbarga has received heavy rains during the last 24 hours.
Now, we expect that rains will increase further over many parts of North Interior Karnataka. And coastal Karnataka will continue with heavy to very heavy rains.
In the next 24 to 48 hours, we even expect extremely heavy rains at a few places over coastal Karnataka. Now, rains will also increase over South Interior Karnataka including the city of Bengaluru, but the rain intensity will be more over North Interior Karnataka as well as coastal Karnataka.
However, usually, North Interior Karnataka remains dry during Monsoon and only subdued Monsoon activity takes places over this region. On the other hand, North Interior Karnataka will also get very good rains during the next two to three days. This will be due to a Cyclonic Circulation which was traveling from Coastal Andhra Pradesh, affecting Telangana and adjoining areas. Now, it will further shift to North Interior Karnataka giving good rains over here.
So, rains deficiency over the state of Karnataka is set to improve to some extent. Temperatures will fall and water scarcity which was being felt since last many days will now ease down a little.
