Rainfall over Northeast India has been specifically very poor not only during the Monsoon and the post Monsoon season, but also during the winter season so far. If we talk about Nagaland in particular, the state has seen zero rains during the month of January so far.

The normal rainfall for the state stands at 3.7 mm for 11 days, but unfortunately, the state has under-performed in the most disappointing way possible. Weather has remained dry and cold throughout the month and it looks like, there is nothing rainy in store for the coming days as well.

The capital city of Nagaland, Kohima, has been no different and weather has remained completely dry and cold. So much so that throughout the month of January, which means the first eleven days have been seeing minimums below the 4-degree mark. There has not been even a single day wherein the city saw minimums above this.

In fact, on the days of January 6 and 7, the minimum went to drop down to a low of 3 degrees as well.

Talking about the coming days, due to the absence of any system in proximity of the state of Nagaland, Kohima and the entire state will continue to remain dry. Moreover, weather will remain cold with minimums settling below normal only.
