Latur, Nanded, Parbhani in Maharashtra record good Monsoon rains

Rain in MaharashtraSouthwest Monsoon 2017 has marked its arrival over the state of Maharashtra a few days ago. Since then, almost the entire state of Maharashtra has been witnessing a good spell of Monsoon rains. In fact, a few areas have also witnessed three-digit rainfall as well.

The last 24 hours have also been good enough for the state of Maharashtra. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Nanded recorded a whopping 80 mm of rain followed by Aurangabad where 34 mm of rain was witnessed. Other areas to have also witnessed good rains include Buldana 33 mm, Parbhani 31 mm, Bramhapuri 24 mm, Akola 23 mm, Jeur 20 mm, Yeotmal 19 mm, and Jalna 18 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to the Monsoon surge being active over the region at present. Moisture incursion has been taking place over the region resulting in some rains over the state of Maharashtra.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, rains are likely to occur over some parts of the state during the next 24 hours. While coastal areas will witness reduced rains, rainfall activity is likely to pick up pace over the regions of Vidarbha as well as Marathwada. Madhya Maharashtra will also continue to witness light to moderate rains.
