According to Skymet Weather, a trough is extending from North Bihar up to the coast of North Odisha. As this system is away from West Bengal, only scattered light showers will continue over southern parts of the state, while Kolkata, on the other hand, may receive light rains with isolated moderate thundershowers for the next 24 to 48 hours.

This weather activity will take place towards late afternoon and evening hours and can be attributed to the increased moisture level in the atmosphere that leads to the formation of convective clouds over the state.

In wake of these weather conditions, the region will witness warm and humid weather, leading to uneasiness. Light winds with patchy cloud cover cannot be ruled out over the region.

So far, the city has managed to record 134.2 mm of rains only, whereas its monthly average rainfall is 300.6 mm. However, with 8 days in hand, we can hope that the city may reach close to the normal figure.
