A trough from Jharkhand and Bihar is extending up to the interiors parts of Tamil Nadu, across Chhattisgarh and Telangana. Due to this system, interior parts of Tamil Nadu will continue to receive rain. Also, the possibility of light rain or thundershowers cannot be ruled out over Chennai.

Heatwave conditions are almost over for the Chennai region. Now, the city can expect marginal relief from intense heat and residents can heave a sigh of relief after reeling under hot weather conditions for a long period of time.

By the end of the month, the temperatures are expected to subside even further as Monsoon rain will start over Kerala and some parts of Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, Chennai is expected to receive good rain on June 1.
