Northeast India Rains 1

Currently, no significant weather conditions are prevailing over the northeastern states of India i.e. Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Nagaland.

At present a trough is seen extending from Myanmar to Assam. Along with this, mainly light variable winds are prevailing over most parts of Northeast India.

Thus, we can say that in association with the above weather system, only isolated pockets of these states are receiving light rainfall activity.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh recorded light rain to the tune of 3 mm.

Further also, we expect the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to receive scattered light rains over isolated pockets.

Rainfall activity is expected reduce marginally. Meanwhile, only light rain may continue over isolated pockets of Northeast India.

Mornings will be cool and thick haze is likely to prevail over the region. Day will become marginally warm with partly cloudy sky and light winds. Thunder clouds are also expected towards afternoon hours.

Therefore, we can say that no significant rains are likely over the northeastern states of India during the next 48 hours.
