The last 24 hours observed light rains over some places of South Kerala. Data- wise, Konni in Pathanamthitta region recorded 17 mm rainfall, followed by 5 mm over Thrithala in Palakkad region and Aryankavu in Kollam region. On the other hand, Vythiri in Wayanad region recorded 4 mm of rainfall while 0.2 mm of rainfall was recorded over Cherthala in Alappuzha region. Moreover, trace rainfall was observed over NAS Kochi, Karipur AP and Minicoy.
At present, an upper air trough is persisting and extending from southeast parts of Arabian sea to East Central Arabian sea off Kerala and Karnataka coast. Due to presence of this system, isolated places of Kerala will observe light rain and thundershower activities. Places like Cochin, Kozhikode and Kannur are likely to receive light rains .
However, once this system weakens, rainfall activities will be decreased.
Talking about temperatures, Alapuzha recorded its minimums around 23.7℃, Kannur at 24.9℃, Kochi at 24.6℃, Kottayam at 21.8℃, Kozhikode at 23.5℃, Punalur at 23.5℃ and Trivandrum 24.8℃ during the last 24 hours.
In the coming days, maximums will start rising while minimums will show a slight decrease as a result of above system.
