Rain in Rajasthan

Almost the entire Northwest plains of the country are anticipated to witness season’s first widespread rainfall activity that is likely to commence on soon and so is the state of Rajasthan. Until now, most parts of Rajasthan have been reeling under dry weather conditions.

Rains have not shown in most parts of the state for almost a month barring some of the eastern regions of the state that had recently seen some light traces of rains. However, now rains are expected to show upon the desert state and will mainly affect the western parts of the state.

An active Western Disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayas and with this, an induced cyclonic circulation is likely to form over West Rajasthan. In the wake of this, rains will be triggered over the northwest plains that will be initiated from Rajasthan on December 10.

The districts lying in the western parts of the state such as Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Barmer, and Udaipur are expected to receive light rains on December 10. The capital city, Jaipur may also get to see some light spells but the activity will take place mostly during the late night hours.

Thereafter, on December 11, with the arrival of the Western Disturbance, the rains will get accentuated in some more parts of North India covering the nearby states of Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, some parts of West Uttar Pradesh also including some parts of North Madhya Pradesh.

Thus, this strong weather system will influence almost the entire northwestern plains of the country that will receive season’s first good winter rains.
