Light rains likely over Nagpur, Akola, Gwalior and Khajuraho

Rain in Madhya Pradesh

Dry weather has been prevailing over the central parts of the country inclusive of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Day temperatures are above 35°C over many places of Vidarbha, Marathwada and adjoining Madhya Maharashtra. It is foreseen that the wind pattern from Northwest are likely to get disturbed by the warm and moist winds from South that would prevail over Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada and Vidarbha.

In coming 48 hours, day temperatures would rise over the region of Vidarbha and Marathwada. Not only this, heatwave condition might develop at isolated pockets of Vidarbha region.

Day temperatures are also expected to rise over Madhya Pradesh due to the mixing of two air masses. Parts of North Madhya Maharashtra might witness isolated thunderstorm activities in the coming 24 hours. The activity is likely to pick up pace on March 11 over Madhya Pradesh as well as parts of Vidarbha region. Thunderstorm or thunderclouds might develop with chances of light rain accompanied with strong gusty winds over few parts of Vidarbha, Southeast and Northeast Madhya Pradesh.

Places like Nagpur, Gondia and Akola in Vidarbha along with Chindwara, Betul, Mandla, Sagar, Satna and Khajuraho, Guna, Gwalior and Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh would witness light rain and thundershower activities.

Not only this, coastal parts of Maharashtra might also witness a drop in day temperature due to the moist winds coming from Arabian Sea on March 11. Day temperatures would be close to 30°C. Afternoon is expected to be humid, however early morning and evening would be comfortable.
