The northern hills of India have been experiencing pleasant and cool weather conditions, since last few days. In a meantime, Jammu and Kashmir have been observing light Monsoon showers. Though the rain intensity was seen much more over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Haridwar 121.2 mm, Pantnagar 55.6 mm, Nainital 11.5 mm, Dehradun 11.3 mm, Mussoorie 10 mm, Dharamsala 8.6 mm, Sundernagar 3.4 mm, Nahan 3 mm and Manali 1.8 mm.
These weather conditions can be attributed to the axis of Monsoon trough which is seen prevailing along the foothills of Himalayas via Amritsar, Karnal and Bareilly. Due to this weather system, light rains are expected to continue over Jammu and Kashmir. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will continue with light to moderate rains until August 12. However, a marginal increase in the rainfall activities over the entire northern hills of India is likely from August 13 and 14. Thereafter, the weather is likely to clear up by August 15 over these places.
