Vidarbha, Marathwada to receive rains

A Confluence Zone has developed from eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh up to Gangetic West Bengal. Also, a trough is extending from East Madhya Pradesh to Marathwada across Vidarbha. Therefore, we expect, scattered rains to occur over eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh. One or two spells of moderate thundershower activities are also possible over Vidarbha.

During the last 24 hours, isolated rains have already occurred over Eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh. Now, we expect rainfall activity over East Madhya Pradesh, and light rains in parts of Vidarbha. One or two moderate spells during the next 48 hours cannot be ruled out in the region. Rains over Vidarbha will not be widespread or heavy

Vidarbha is running highly rain deficient in the month of March so far. However, it remains the only meteorological division in Maharashtra to have received some rains, otherwise all other areas such as Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa have been dry in terms of rain.

After 48 hours, the weather in Vidarbha will again become dry. East Madhya Pradesh will also start experiencing dry weather conditions and the temperatures may drop by 2 to 3 degrees.
