Madhya Pradesh to witness rain in next 24 hours

Madhya Pradesh Rains

After witnessing an elongated dry period, the state of Madhya Pradesh is now all set to witness some rain and thundershowers during the next 24 hours. However, the state did witness a rainy Republic Day.

Since many days, due to dry and clear weather, the temperatures were settling above normal for the state. But now with these rainy spells on cards, the day temperatures are likely to drop marginally over the region.

These approaching rain and thundershowers can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation over Odisha and adjoining parts of Chhattisgarh. Also, a trough is extending from this system up to Madhya Maharashtra.

In wake of this system, eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Southeast Uttar Pradesh are likely to observe an episode of rain.

Moreover, warm and humid southwesterly winds are blowing across the region, which will fuel the system leading to rise in humidity levels and drop in maximum temperatures across the areas.

According to Skymet Weather, some hailstorm activity is also likely due to convective cloud formation. On one hand, these rains can be to some extent beneficial for the state which is reeling under dry weather conditions, whereas the hailstorm can damage the Rabi crops.

Due to patches of clouds and high humidity levels, minimum temperatures will see an upward trend.
