Maharashtra Rains 1

Monsoon has been showing immense love this year over Central Parts of India. Most parts of Maharashtra have received surplus rainfall except one particular region, Marathwada. Marathwada is rainfall deficient by 6% and Vidarbha is near normal with only rainfall deficient by 1%.

At present, a low-pressure system has developed over South Odisha and adjoining coastal Andhra Pradesh. Earlier this weather system was in the form of a cyclonic circulation persisting over the same area. And due to this weather system, Vidarbha has received good rains in the last 24 hours.

The intensity of the rainfall was more particularly East Vidarbha, Chandrapur, Brahmapuri, Gondia, Nagpur and Wardha. All these places have received good rainfall activity.

Now we expect this low-pressure system to move gradually in a westerly direction. This movement of weather system will increase the rain intensity over Vidarbha and almost all the districts in the region will start receiving good rains.

Gradually Marathwada will also receive moderate to heavy rains. By September 13, we expect that the rain belt will further shift more towards west and almost entire Maharashtra will get light to moderate rains with few heavy spells. This rain activity is expected to continue for next 3-4 days over many parts of Maharashtra.

According to Skymet Weather, by the end of this week, all the areas of Maharashtra are expected to show surplus rainfall figures.
