Mumbai Rains

Mumbai Rains have gotten even more intense than yesterday. While rains were in three digit in the past 24 hours, the three digit target for today has been achieved in just about three hours. So much so that Santa Cruz has recorded 121 mm of rainfall in the last three hours.

In fact, the suburbs have also seen heavy rains with Thane observing 173 mm of rainfall during the same time frame.

With this, the city of Mumbai has managed to receive 403 mm of rains in just four days time against its monthly average of 341 mm in September. As per our weathermen, Mumbai rains will continue to lash the maximum city today with flooding conditions being witnessed in many parts.

Flight delay numbers have further increased with rainfall refusing to take a break over the maximum city. Low lying areas have reported water-logging particularly in parts of Sion, Gandhi Market, Pratiksha Nagar, Motilal Nagar, Milan subway, Andheri East and Malad subway. BEST buses have diverted many of their bus routes.

A high tide of around 4.18 metres is also likely to hit Mumbai at around 3.27 PM, which may further increase water logging in the low lying areas. More rains are expected to be seen in Mumbai today.
