Moderate to dense fog has been shrouding parts of Delhi and NCR from past few days now. In fact, moderate to dense fog was observed in the national capital along with adjoining areas today as well.

This has led to low visibility in a few pockets of Delhi and NCR. The Palam Airport, early morning today, recorded a low visibility of 300 meters due to which several flight operations were affected.

Close to 22 domestic and international flights at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi were rescheduled or delayed while one another flight was canceled.

Due to foggy weather, disruptions in the rail traffic were also reported in the northern states, particularly the capital of the country and its surrounding regions. Several trains are running behind time and many have been rescheduled.

On January 3 as well, flight operations were held up by 1 to 4 hours at Delhi’s IGIA and close to 14 to and fro flights were delayed with two cancellations as well. As per the IGIA’s authorities, close to 900 flights were affected due to the blinding fog that occurred between December 30 and January 3.

Moreover, as per the weatherman, shallow to moderate fog is expected to prevail over the national capital and NCR for another 24 hours. This would in turn definitely lead to more air traffic disruptions across the airport.
