Rain in Jamshedpur

Monsoon has already covered Jharkhand and more than half of the Bihar region. However, Southwest Monsoon is still delayed over Bihar by at least 11 to 12 days. By this time usually, Southwest Monsoon covers most parts of Uttar Pradesh

Currently, a cyclonic circulation is over Jharkhand and adjoining Odisha is expected to move in a west-northwest direction. Also, easterly flow of winds will get strengthened. Therefore, Monsoon will pick up pace once again and light to moderate rains will commence over many parts of Jharkhand and Bihar.

So much so that the intensity of rains will be more on June 28 and 29. Until then, patchy rains will only occur over the region. However, the possibility of widespread heavy rains has been ruled out. Cities like Patna, Gaya, Motihari, Ranchi, Bokaro and Jamshedpur are expected to witness rains.

Intensity of Monsoon rains will increase over Uttar Pradesh and Northern Plains during the aforementioned period but we do not expect significant increase over Bihar and Jharkhand.

Both Bihar and Jharkhand are at presently rain deficient. While the state of Bihar is observing a rainfall deficiency of 35 percent and Jharkhand is rain deficient by 37 percent. Since the possibility of heavy rains are ruled out, deficiency will remain around the same and no improvement is expected.
