In the entire month of August, only subdued rainfall activity was observed over Hyderabad. Some scattered light rain did occur here and there but overall the month was dry for Hyderabad. But things went better in the last week of August. The weather activity shifted from isolated light rain to heavy in the last 2 days for Hyderabad.
A cyclonic circulation developed over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and another cyclonic circulation was seen over Marathwada. The combined effect of these two weather systems has given heavy to very heavy rainfall over many parts of the city during last 48 hours.
But now both the weather systems, over coastal Andhra Pradesh and over Marathwada have become less marked and have weakened significantly.
Therefore we expect the rain intensity over Hyderabad to reduce significantly. However few showers of light to moderate intensity can be expected over Hyderabad. Thereafter rain pattern will once again become light and patchy in nature.
