Monsoon rains to pick up pace in Uttar Pradesh; good spells in store for Lucknow, Bareilly, Meerut

Rain in Lucknow

Presently; the entire state of Uttar Pradesh is rain deficient by 52%. Division-wise, the rain deficiency in East Uttar Pradesh is 56% and 43% in West Uttar Pradesh.

The reason for this rain deficiency could be attributed to the delayed onset of Monsoon over Uttar Pradesh on June 27, which was supposed to be on June 14.

Despite of late onset of Monsoon; few good spells were observed over the state, but then the showers were not adequate to improve the rain deficiency anyhow.

As of now, an east-west trough is running through Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh which is most likely to slowly shift towards Uttar Pradesh. In consequence to this, we could expect the intensity of rains to pick up pace over the state in the approaching days.

After the span of 24 hours; we are foreseeing some light to moderate showers, with few heavy spells to lash western districts of the state including places like Bareilly, Meerut and Muzaffarnagar on July 1.

Thereafter, many other places of Uttar Pradesh would see moderate to heavy showers like Bahraich, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Kanpur and Gonda.

Weatherman expects these good rains to continue over Uttar Pradesh until July 2-3, which is most prophesied to recover the rain deficiency to a great extent.

Furthermore, these showers will aid in restoring the soil moisture.
