Rain in Hyderabad

The northern parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have observed light to moderate rain and thundershower activities during the last 24 hours. Isolated places in Andhra Pradesh even recorded very heavy showers. However, the remaining areas of Telangana, Rayalaseema and South Andhra Pradesh remained dry and warm.

According to the data available with Skymet, Vijayawada has recorded 118.9 mm of rainfall, followed by Ongole 21.3 mm, Machilipatnam 12.9 mm, Nizamabad 14.7 mm and Hyderabad 5 mm of rainfall, in the last 24 hour from 8:30 am on Saturday.

At present, an upper air Trough is extending from Odisha up to North Andhra Pradesh. In the wake of this system, rainfall activities would continue in the eastern parts of Telangana and North Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, due to a feeble Cyclonic Circulation over Southwest Bay of Bengal, Rayalaseema may see isolated light rains during the next 24 to 36 hours. Thereafter, the rain intensity will increase over both the states.

The city of Hyderabad may observe very light and patchy rains during the next 24 hours.

Places like Khammam, Bhadrachalam, Kalingapatnam, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Kakinada, Tirupathi, Nellore and Kavali will experience rainfall activities.

On the contrary, the southwestern parts of Telangana will remain mainly dry. Places such as Mahbubnagar, Kurnool, Anantapur, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, and Medak will experience dry weather conditions only.
