Monsoon was delayed over Gujarat. Since the last week of June, many parts of Gujarat have been receiving decent rainfall. As on July 14, the Gujarat region is surplus by 41% whereas Saurashtra and Kutch are surplus by 180%.

A cyclonic circulation is over the south of Gujarat at around 3.1 Km above mean Sea level. The offshore trough is also extending from the south Gujarat coast to the north Kerala coast. In the wake of these parameters, rain activities will continue over the Southern districts of Gujarat with moderate intensity.

Places such as Surat, Bulsar, Panchmahal, Dang, Navsari, Bharuch, Narmada, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, Amreli, and Gir Somnath may witness moderate rain with one or two heavy spells.

Rain activities over Saurashtra and Kutch will be light for another 24 to 48 hours. Thereafter, there may be a few moderate spells of rain. The Rain over entire Gujarat is expected to continue until July 20 or 21.

Dev bhumi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Morbi, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Ahmedabad, Surendranagar, and Rajkot may receive light to moderate rain. In a nutshell, we can say that monsoon will remain generous for Gujarat at least until 3rd week of July.
