Southwest Monsoon 2019 has finally made an entry in some parts of Madhya Pradesh. In Central India, a Cyclonic Circulation is marked over East Madhya Pradesh and a trough is also extending from West Rajasthan to East India across North Madhya Pradesh. These weather systems would help in giving light to moderate rain and thundershowers over many parts of West Madhya Pradesh for the next 24 hours.
However, the rain activities will be light and scattered over the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh. On June 26, one can expect South and western districts of Madhya Pradesh to receive good rain and thundershowers with isolated heavy spells. Places like Bhopal, Ujjain, Shajapur, Ratlam, Hoshangabad, Khargone, Khandwa stands a chance to witness good rains. Whereas by June 27. This rain belt will shift towards south-east Madhya Pradesh. Then the places like Chhindwara, Seoni, Malanjkhand, Mandla, Umaria, and Jabalpur to see good rains. Thereafter, the rain intensity is expected to go down.
However, isolated light spells might continue over the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh. The good news is that another spell of rain and thundershower activity is expected to affect East and South Madhya Pradesh on July 2. July 3 and July 4 will record good rains in the wake of a Well-marked Low-Pressure Area or a Cyclonic Circulation which will form over Odisha coast. On moving inland, the system is expected to give good rains.
Thus, we can say that for the next two to three days, parts of Madhya Pradesh is all set to witness scattered light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells. At present West Madhya Pradesh is rain deficit by 41% and East Madhya Pradesh is deficit by 66%. Thus, the experts have to say that these rains won’t be of much help in improving the deficiency levels. However, these rains would benefit the Kharif crops.
