July 4, 2016 11:35 AM |

udaipur-city-rajasthan Many parts of Rajasthan have received good rainfall over the last few days. Isolated places have received heavy to very heavy also. This state was rain deficient in the month of June but the deficiency has been decreasing during the last few days.

As Monsoon is progressing steadily, the rain deficit of June in Rajasthan has turned into positive figures now. So far, West Rajasthan has received surplus Monsoon rains to the tune of 12% whereas East Rajasthan has received 20% more rains than normal.

During last 24 hours, Udaipur has received a whopping 98 mm of rainfall. Chittorgarh has also received good rains of 26 mm and Kota 42 mm.

We expect Monsoon to cover some more parts of West Rajasthan in next 24 hours. But rain intensity will not increase significantly over the state.

East and Southeast Rajasthan will continue to receive scattered showers and we expect rain intensity to increase around July 7. This spell of rain is expected to continue till July 11. During that time, few heavy spells are also expected over the eastern as well the western parts of the state.

At present, we can see a cyclonic circulation over the Kutch region of Gujarat, which will enhance the rainfall activities over southern and southeastern parts during the next couple of days.

According to Skymet Weather, overall situation for Rajasthan during Monsoon 2016 will be good. Sufficient rainfall has already occurred over many parts of Rajasthan.
