Monsoon to revive in Uttar Pradesh tomorrow onward

Monsoon Rains in Uttar Pradesh

As of August 1, East Uttar Pradesh has received normal rains whereas West Uttar Pradesh is still deficient. Good rains received by eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh particularly during the first and second week of July has made this difference. During this period, heavy to very heavy rains lashed the region as successive Low-Pressure Areas developed over North Bay of Bengal and affected the eastern districts of the state.

Now, the axis of the Monsoon Trough is gradually shifting northward. A Cyclonic Circulation is also over Northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining parts of South Uttar Pradesh. So, we expect the rain activities to first commence over the southern districts of Uttar Pradesh. Thereafter, many parts of Uttar Pradesh will get moderate rains. On August 2, we expect rain activities at many places. These rains are expected to continue until August 5. Although the intensity will not be very heavy, a few good spells cannot be ruled out.

Another spell of rain is expected to commence over Southeastern Uttar Pradesh around August 7 and 8. These rains will be due to the formation of a Low-Pressure Area over the Bay of Bengal which will travel West. During this period, places like Sonbhadra, Chandoli, Mirzapur, Prayagraj and Chitrakoot may get to receive good rains.
