After giving heavy rains over West Madhya Pradesh, parts of Gujarat will receive heavy to very heavy showers, especially the region of Ahmedabad. The weather has almost been dry for the entire state of Gujarat for the month of July. The monthly rainfall average of Ahmedabad for the month of July is 281.3 mm.
As of now, this number seems to be a far-fetched figure for the state to achieve. The good Monsoon rains are all set to give heavy downpour in the region as the weather system is now over Gujarat region. So we expect that Ahmedabad and adjoining areas will receive good showers.
This heavy downpour is expected to last at least for the next 48 hours.
There has been some light rain over the city in last 24 hours. Normally, Saurashtra in Gujarat region receives good rains when compared to the Kutch region, which remains dry even during Monsoon.
There has been only one instance in July when the Monsoon rains showed its presence over the region. Back on July 2 this year, 45 mm rainfall was witnessed by the city and this time it is expected that this figure might be toppled easily due to heavy showers.
