Monsoon rains in Bengaluru to pick up pace again

June 22, 2017 5:49 PM |

Rainy days ahead for Bengaluru, good showers soon

The off shore trough is getting activated once again along the West Coast. This trough will fuel the moisture levels in the atmosphere, thus leading to formation of convective clouds, which in turn will pour some good rains over the region.

In wake of this, the weather activity will intensify, particularly over the coastal areas of Karnataka. However, due to strengthening of the Monsoon surge, interior areas may also see some better rainfall activity for the next few days, particularly over South Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru.

When Monsoon made its onset along the West Coast and most of southern states, on and off good rains were witnessed over the city, leading to pleasant weather across many areas.

So far, the city has managed to record 25.9 mm of rains only, whereas its monthly average rainfall is 106.5 mm. Thus, with 8 days in hand, the possibility seems quite less for the city to even reach close to the normal figure.
