The state of Chhattisgarh has received light to moderate rains during the last 24 hours, wherein Jagdalpur has recorded 12 mm of rainfall, followed by Bilaspur 4.2 mm and Ambikapur 2.8 mm of rainfall. We expect Chhattisgarh to get some good showers for another week now.
According to Skymet, more moderate showers are in store for the state of Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours. Moreover, the intensity may increase tomorrow onwards. The reason for these showers can be attributed to the Low-Pressure Area, which is present over North Coastal Odisha. This system is slowly moving in west directions, thus increasing the rainfall activities over many parts of the state. Places like Jagdalpur, Bilaspur, Ambikapur, Durg, and Raipur will get to see light to moderate rains with a few heavy spells during the next 24 hours. Thereafter, as the weather system moves away towards the Vidarbha and Marathwada region, rains will taper over the region.
However, the northern and the central districts of the state will continue to get moderate showers for the next four to five days. This is because, as soon as the Low-pressure Area dissipates, another Cyclonic Circulation will make its presence felt over West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand. In addition to this system, a Trough will extend up to the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh, thus leading to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells over North Chhattisgarh until July 6 or 7. These good rains will help the state in improving its rain deficiency figures to a great extent. Thus, we can say that a rainy week lies ahead of Chhattisgarh.
In the wake of these activities, the weather will become comfortable. Moreover, the region will observe cloudy to overcast sky throughout the week.
