Mumbai gets some respite from scorching heat as maximum drops to 32.8 degrees

The city of Mumbai was reeling under intense heat wave conditions 2 days ago. The maximum temperature had reached up to 41 degrees Celsius which was not only the highest of the season, but it was also the highest maximum temperature recorded in March since the year 2011.

The reason for the intense summer heat over Mumbai was attributed to the presence of easterly winds which were blowing from the land where temperatures were already quite high.

The day before, the maximum temperature dropped to 38.7 degrees, which was still about five degrees above the normal levels.

It was yesterday that some significant relief finally came Mumbai’s way, as was reiterated by Skymet Weather. Yesterday, the maximum dropped to the early thirties and settled at 32.8 degrees Celsius which happens to be a notch below the normal levels.

The change in occurred due to the change in wind pattern which has now become northwesterly blowing from the sea. Early setting in of the sea breeze also plays a role in the reduction in temperatures.

As per weatherman at Skymet Weather, the temperatures are expected to follow a similar pattern until the end of March and residents will be saved from the scorching heat that had wreaked havoc over the maximum city.

There may be some discomfort on account of high humidity levels, but evening will bring in the much-needed present condition due to sea breeze.
