Pune Rains

As predicted by Skymet Weather, rains have further reduced across Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra during the last 24 hours. Till now, both the region shave been recording light to moderate rains and thundershowers. In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Dahanu recorded 10 mm of rain, Mumbai 6 mm, Ratnagiri 5 mm, Satara 5 mm, Alibag 4 mm, Nashik 3 mm and Pune 1 mm. Meanwhile, Vidarbha and Marathwada regions remained almost dry.

As per weathermen, absence of off-shore trough along the West Coast or any other weather system over Arabian Sea or Interior Peninsular, has led to significant decrease in the rainfall across the state.

Further, with no system foreseen, similar weather conditions will prevail over the state during the next few days. Thus, we can expect Monsoon rains to take a backseat over Maharashtra for at least one week.

However, with proximity to the Sea, Konkan & Goa may see light rains with isolated moderate spells. Adjacent parts of Madhya Maharashtra may also see light to very light rains. Rest of the regions of Vidarbha and Marathwada will witness mainly dry weather conditions. However, Vidarbha may see scattered rains around August 6 or 7.
