For the entertainment and glamorous city of India, Monsoon is the most awaited season of the year, wherein Mumbai gets to see heavy to very heavy rainfall.
During the Southwest Monsoon, the city ends up recording three digit rainfalls every now and then. However, in the past few days, the city has observed light rain and thundershowers, leading to rise in day temperatures and humid weather conditions.

It was only day before yesterday that good Monsoon rains were observed over the fashion city. But in the last 24 hours, the Santa Cruz Observatory recorded light rain to the tune of 1.7 mm, while Colaba Observatory recorded traces of rain.
According to Skymet Weather, the off shore trough that was running along the West Coast from Karnataka to Kerala became insignificant, but has now activated again extending from South Gujarat up to Kerala Coast.

In wake of this, rain and thundershowers will intensify over Mumbai, paving way for some moderate to heavy rainfall during the next 48 hours. Owing to this, the temperature may see marginal drop, leading to comfortable and windy weather.
So far, the Mumbai city has recorded 235.5 mm of rains but it is still far away from its monthly mean of 523.1 mm. So, it’s pretty long way for Mumbai rains to reach close to its monthly mean with just six days in hand.
