Must Watch: Heavy Chennai rains to be back again

November started on a rainy note, bringing back the horror of 2015 floods. In fact, city had recorded over 90% of its monthly average rainfall in the first four days of the month itself.

Flooding three-digit rains also made appearance on three occasions, leaving city roads inundated. Schools and colleges were closed and thousands of people in the low lying areas were transferred to relief camps.

Now, heavy Chennai rains are all set to return. A fresh low pressure area has developed in Gulf of Thailand, which is likely to move in Andaman Sea by November 22-23. Thereafter, the system will continue to move in westerly direction towards the coast of Tamil Nadu, giving moderate to heavy rains.
