Rain in Nashik

The meteorological division of Madhya Maharashtra has seen some intense showers during the last 24 hours. This trend is likely to continue, wherein Pune, Nashik, and Malegaon would observe good rains until September 25 or 26.

According to the rainfall data available with Skymet, in the past 21 hours between 8.30 am yesterday until 5.30 am today, the city of Pune has recorded heavy showers to the tune of 56 mm. In fact, this has been the heaviest spell of rain for the September month during this Monsoon season.

The meteorologists at Skymet have predicted more rains for the state of Maharashtra during the coming days. The rainfall activities will increase in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha and continue with good intensity until September 25 or 26.

During this entire rainy episode, Pune in Madhya Maharashtra would record moderate spells of rain. Some heavy showers may also appear in between. Likewise, Nashik and Malegaon would observe good Monsoon showers on September 25 and 26.

Meanwhile, Konkan and Goa including Mumbai would witness good rains on September 25 and 26, in view of the Cyclonic Circulation over the Northeast Arabian Sea off Gujarat Coast.

The Monsoon season so far has been good for Maharashtra. So much so that the meteorological divisions of Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa are in excess rainfall category. And with rains still continuing with a good pace, we do not expect Monsoon to make a withdrawal anytime soon.
