March 24, 2020 11:38 AM |

rain in Maharashtra

During the last 24 hours, isolated light rains occurred over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Weather of remaining parts of Central India including Maharashtra and Gujarat remained almost dry.

Now, we expect these rain activities to increase over Rajasthan gradually due to the formation of a Cyclonic Circulation over Pakistan and adjoining Southwest Gujarat. Another Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over Central parts of Pakistan. Moreover, humid winds from Arabian Sea are feeding moisture over Gujarat and adjoining Madhya Pradesh. An anti-cyclone is persisting over West central Bay of Bengal is feeding moisture over parts of Maharashtra and Vidarbha.

So, we expect on and off light patchy rains to occur over Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh particularly in Western and Central parts, parts of Vidarbha, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra for the next two days. Rain activities will remain intense over a few places of Vidarbha and Marathwada with chances of hailstorm activities. Isolated hailstorm activities are also possible over parts of Rajasthan.

These rains are expected to continue until March 26 over these areas. On March 26, weather activities will subside over Maharashtra. Isolated pockets of Vidarbha may continue with rains and thundershowers. These rains might turn out damaging for the standing Rabi crops in isolated pockets.
