Night temperatures in Delhi to rise

November 19, 2013 6:38 PM |

There could be a break from the cool mornings in Delhi at the start of the weekend as minimum temperatures are expected to rise almost 2 degrees by then. This would be a relief for the national capital as well as other parts of northwest plains that are witnessing a cooler November this year.

Delhi has already witnessed a rise in the night temperature in the last two days. From 9.2 degrees on Sunday it rose to 11.4 degrees on Tuesday. It will remain in the same range during the next two days.

Punjab, Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh have been witnessing night temperatures dropping 4 to 5 degrees below normal. The coldest place in northwest plains was Adampur in Punjab. The morning temperature was recorded at 5.6 degrees today, 19th of November.

Snowfall in higher reaches

The higher reaches of Jammu & Kashmir will continue to witness light snowfall and rain during the next two to three days. The feeble Western Disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir is moving eastward and would give way to another weak Western Disturbance in the next two days.

Central and East India will continue to witness below normal night temperatures for the next two days due to the northerly winds. Night temperatures in East India are 2 to 3 three degrees below normal, while in Central India they are 4 degrees below normal.
