Nightlong rain in Jammu and Kashmir

jammuAs predicted by Skymet, a Western Disturbance has struck again giving widespread rain over several places of Jammu and Kashmir. The rainy weather has also pulled down the temperatures in the region.

Though feeble, this Western Disturbance began affecting the weather last evening itself. Rainfall started in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir first and gradually spread to the rest of the state.

The day and night temperatures were settling above normal at several places in the hilly state lately, which are now expected to drop by 6 to 7°C from today evening onwards.

The current weather system only affected Jammu and Kashmir, barring the other two hilly states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. However, 18th April onwards, another weather system is expected to cover these hilly regions of India giving rain in Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand as well.
