Northeast Monsoon rains reach Goa and Hyderabad

After revival and heavy rains in Tamil Nadu and parts of Kerala, Northeast Monsoon rains spread to west coast, North Interior Karnataka and Madhya Maharashtra.

While it led to rain of 32 mm in Goa, it gave light showers of 2 mm in Ratnagiri and Karwar.

The rain was also observed in North Interior Karnataka and Rayalseema. Parts of Karnataka where rain was observed include Belgaum - 0.6 mm, Bijapur - 7.6 mm, Chitradurga – 0.1 mm, Gulbarga – 3.8 mm of rain.

While Hyderabad witnessed light rain of 0.1 mm, Tirupati received rain of 2.4 mm.

Several villages in Nashik and Pune also received light to moderate showers in last 24 hours which led to crop damage in some places.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, scattered rain would continue and good showers are expected in the next 48 hours over coastal parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

After Northeast Monsoon revived, coastal parts of Tamil Nadu witnessed light to moderate rain on in last few days. For instance, Chennai in last days has received a total of 57 mm of rain.
