There are multiple weather systems which are expected to bring rainfall over these areas. A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayas on May 13 which will give rains over the hills of North India including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Its induced cyclonic circulation will result in thunderstorm, dust storm along with some rains over Haryana, Punjab, North Rajasthan, Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh.

The cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand and adjoining Odisha and West Bengal is expected to become more marked and will increase rains over Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Bihar. Due to this system and the anti-cyclone over Bay of Bengal, moist winds will be pushed towards Northeast India resulting in rains.

Also, the pre-Monsoon trough in the interior Peninsular India will result in more rains. The wind discontinuity has also extended rains up to Goa and between May 13 and 15, could even go up to Konkan. However, Mumbai will be spared from the rains.
