It is anticipated that heavy to very heavy rains will be ruled out till the end of the month. Monsoon rains are likely to pick up the pace by August 1 that too over the foothills of Bihar. The eastern arm of the axis of Monsoon trough is expected to move towards the foothills of the Himalayas leading to an increase in rain activity. This will be a prolonged a spell and rains are likely to continue till August 3 and 4.

Due to the reduction in rain intensity, at present Bihar is rain deficient by 5 percent. Temperatures across the state have also risen up, uneasy conditions are prevailing. It is expected that as the rains gear up the weather will once again become pleasant.
