Examining the performance of Monsoon during the opening week of commencement, i.e., the first seven days was a diverse. As of this week, rainfall stands at 22 mm as against the normal of 23.9 mm, thus having a marginal deficit of 7%.

As of the coming week, there are prospects of rainfall to pick up pace and most likely the showers recorded would be above the normal range for Pan India.

The major contribution to these figures of rainfall is likely to come from the West Coast that comprises Konkan and Goa including Mumbai, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Correspondingly, the other regions that would give sufficient rain would be the northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura; along with Madhya Pradesh and rest of Maharashtra, i.e., Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.

Accordingly, in a nutshell, we can expect the rain deficiency to get covered by the next week and rains to settle above the normal range.
